Major reshuffle in police and civil administration

GUWAHATI, Feb 2 - In a major police and civil administration reshuffle, the State government today transferred and promoted seven IPS and five IAS officials.

While RM Singh, Chairman, Assam Police Housing Corporation, has been transferred and posted as Director General of Home Guards and Commandant General of Civil Defence, Assam against an existing vacancy, Anil Kumar Jha, Special Director General (CID), has been transferred and posted as Chairman, Assam Police Housing Corporation. AK Sinha Kashyap, Additional Director General of Police (T&AP), has been promoted and posted as Special Director General (T&AP), an official release said.

Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Additional Director General of Police (Border), has been promoted and posted as Special Director General (Border). IR Bishnoi, Additional Director General of Police (Administration), has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General of Police (CID) while Harmeet Singh, Additional Director General of Police (Security), Assam, has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General of Police (Administration). He is also allowed to hold the additional charge of ADGP (M&L) and ADGP (Security).

On repatriation from Central deputation, Deepak Kumar Kedia has been posted as Inspector General of Police (L&O).

Among the IAS transfers, while Biswaranjan Samal has been posted as Principal Secretary, Transport, Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Dr Krishna Kumar Dwivedi, Commissioner & Secretary, Personnel, AR and Training, has been given the additional charge of Commissioner & Secretary, Welfare of Minorities and Development.

Ashutosh Agnihotri, Commissioner & Secretary, Transport, Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Industries and Commerce, and Sports & Youth Welfare, has been posted as Commissioner & Secretary, Home, Political, Border Areas, and Implementation of Assam Accord, and relieved from the additional charge of Transport, Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship.

Gaurav Bothra, Commissioner & Secretary, Welfare of Minorities Development and Member, Board of Revenue, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner & Secretary, Agriculture and Member of the Board of Revenue as an additional charge.

Vinod Seshan, Secretary, Agriculture and Information Technology, State Project Director of ARIAS Society, Director, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, has been posted as Secretary, Information Technology and relieved from the charge of Secretary, Agriculture.
