�Mahayaggu� for peace from Jan 25

PATACHARKUCHI, Jan 21 � A five-day long �mahayaggu� (mass prayer) will be organised from January 25 onwards under the aegis of Sri Sri Sidananda Sahana Yoga Ashram, Saderi under Bajali subdivision. Various programme will be performed for peace in the globe as a part of the �mahayaggu�.

As per the information received from the organising committee, the entire programme will begin with the lighting of earthen lamps on the morning of January 25 at 6 am by Santanu Sarma, ex-general secretary of Gauhati University, which will be followed by �arati�.

On the second day, the flag of �mahayaggu� will be hoisted by Balabhadra Talukdar, noted social worker of Bongaon at 8 am. At 8.30 am, �jnyan banti� will be lighted by Girish Patgiri, secretary and speaker of Barpeta District Congress Committee. The programme for collection of religious water will be inaugurated by Dr Ranjit Deka, rector Anundoram Barooah Academy, at 9.30 am, while �mahayaggu� will be declared open by Swami Satyabrata Dev Maharshi at 11 am. Nagara Naam will be performed by the team of Rumi Baruah at 11.30 am.

On the third day, Bhagabat path will be performed at 7 am, religious process of �mahayaggu� will begin at 10 am and �nagara naam� will performed by the team of Pankaj Talukdar at 11 am.

On the following day, Bhagabat path will be performed at 7 am, religious process of �mahayaggu� will be performed at 10 am and �nagara naam� will be performed by the team of Anamika Roy and Namita Roy.

On the concluding day on January 29, �bhagabat path� will be performed at 7 am followed by full religious process of �mahayaggu� will begin at 9 am. A symposium on �yaggu� will be held at 11 am which will be declared open by Nilamani Sen Deka, Agricultural Minister. Biren Dutta, Chief State Election Commission, Assam and Manoranjan Das, MLA of Patacharkuchi constituency, Dhirendra Nath Talukdar, retired i/c principal of Bajali HS School, Dr Subodh Kumar Mishra Bhagabati, prof of Kamrup College, Promod Sarma, State award winning teacher and Hitesh Talukdar, president of Pathsala Chambers of Commerce will attend as resource persons in the symposium.

The organising committee solicits the attendance and cooperation of all in the ensuing programme.
