DHUBRI, Dec 8 - On Mahaparinivan Divas commemorating Dr BR Ambedkar�s 62nd death anniversary, the City Mission Management Unit, Dhubri under the Assam State Urban Livelihoods Mission Society (DAY-NULM) ceremonially distributed certificates of loans sanctioned by various banks under DAY-NULM and MUDRA (Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency) to 10 beneficiaries belonging to the backward classes.
Jintu Borah, City Project Officer along with other dignitaries paid rich tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar and urged the beneficiaries to follow his path. He also encouraged them to become successful entrepreneurs.
Arun Das, financial literacy coordinator of UCO Bank also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of timely repayment of loans to secure future benefits from financial institutions for business expansion.
City Mission Management Unit, Dhubri under DAY-NULM provides interest subvention to entrepreneurs from the economically weaker sections of the society under its Self Employment programme. Beneficiary entrepreneurs, members of Self Helf Groups, branch managers of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Punjab National Bank and UCO Bank attended the programme. Under its Self Employment Loan Scheme, it has a target of covering more than 60 beneficiaries involving a sum of Rs 1 crore in the current financial year in Dhubri town.
