Madan Kamdev-Doulguri Raas Mahotsav

BAIHATA CHARIALI, Nov 4 � The 16th Madan Kamdev-Doulguri Raas Mahotsav will be held at Bormula Ahattol Doulguri Sri Sri Hari Mandir premises from November 6 with a seven-day programme.

In this connection, a raas mahotsav celebration committee was formed in a general meeting with Harakanta Kumar as president and Diganta Das as secretary.

On November 6, the programme of the raas festival will begin with the hoisting of the flag by Harakanta Kumar, president of the Raas festival committee at 8 am followed by smriti tarpan to be offened by Mohan Swargiary, president of the permanent committee of Madan Kamdev-Doulguri raas festival. At 10 am, a number of model farmers and social workers of the area will perform tree plantation programme. On the otherhand, at 11am a mass cleanliness drive will be held at the Hari Mandir premises in co-operation with the public of the locality. At 12 noon, the Pani tolan programme will be held where women of the area will participate taking out a procession. At 5pm, the idol of Radha -Krishna will be installed and at 6pm entrances of Radh-Krishna and Dasavatar idols will be opened by Ramani Mohan Deka and Dhruba Jyoti Deka.

At 7pm, Satya Nath Kakati, Manik Chandra Deka, Banamali Deka and Nanda Barua will light the ceremonial lamp and at 9 pm purnahuti will be offerred.

On November 7 at 10 am, Kirtan path, at 2 pm Ayoti naam, at 6pm banti prajalan and at 8 pm nagara naam will be held.

On November 8 at 10 am Bhogawat path, at 12 noon Ayoti naam, at 3 pm Oja pali, at 6 pm banti prajalan and at 8 pm a complete drama Ajak pokhir kolahol directed by Rajen Das will be staged in the raas festival stage.

On November 9 at 10 am, Kirtan paath, at 1pm Ayoti naam, at 8 pm girls Nagara naam will be held.

On November 10 at 10 am Bhagawat path, at 2-30 pm Borgeet prasanga and at 7 pm superstar contest will be held. On November 11 at 10 am Bhagawat path, at 1pm Ayoti naam, at 3 pm Ojapali and at 8pm Nagara naam will be held.

On November 12 at 10 am Kirtan path, at 1pm Ayoti naam, at 5pm mass banti prajalan and at 7pm cultural programme will be held. The raas festival committee has appealed to the public of the locality to extend their co-operation to make the festival a success.
