GUWAHATI, Sept 9 - Noted lyricist and life member of Jyotirupa, Gunin Rajkhowa passed away at the International Hospital today after a brief illness.

His demise has created a void, which will be hard to fill. His lyrics were rendered by top singers of the State, who earned laurels for themselves and the lyricist. His lyrics also bagged first prizes in a number of chorus competitions held in Assam.

On his last journey, homage and floral tributes were paid to late Rajkhowa on The Assam Tribune premises, from where he retired a few years back.

Jyotirupa also paid tribute to the noted lyricist for his life-long association with the organisation. The late lyricist, who was 76, leaves behind his wife, a son, a daughter and a number of admirers.

His mortal remains were consigned to flames at the Nabagraha crematorium in the presence of many artistes and other admirers including the members of Jyotirupa and his former colleagues at The Assam Tribune Group.
