Lumber Dai award prog on June 1

BIHPURIA, May 21 � The Lumber Dai Award of the Asam Sahitya Sabha has been won by Basanta Das, renowned litteratuer of Assam this time. The award will be conferred on him at a meet scheduled to be held her on June 1.

On that day, a regional research centre of language will be inaugurated at Bihpuria Sakha Sahitya Sabha office. It is learnt from the secretary of the reception committee, Dr Bipul Kumar Neog that the president of the Sabha, Rongbong Terang and other officials of the sabha would attend the meeting.

A delegation from Arunachal Pradesh including some artists will also take part in the meeting. According to the programme, in the morning after flag hoisting, the distance language research centre will be inaugurated at the Dharmeswar Kataky Memorial Hall and a meeting will be held. Later, the general meeting of the award giving ceremony will be held at Bihpuria College auditorium from 4 pm to 6 pm. A cultural programme of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will be held.

In this regard, a meeting of the reception committee was held at the Bihpuria Press Club building recently which finalised the programmes and budget. A budget of about Rs 1.5 lakh was accepted in the meeting. The Sakha Sabha has solicited the cooperation of all the people of Bihpuria to make the programme a success.
