Luitpaar Club�s half marathon

GUWAHATI, Nov 16 � Mubarak Hussain of Boko won the Luitpaar Club Open Prize Money Half Marathon Race while Lanchan Ali and Habibul Ahmed, also from Boko, won the second and third position respectively organised by the Luitpaar Club here today.

Luitpaar Club, OIL Colony, here completed its glorious 50 years this year. To commemorate the occasion, the Club organised this 21 kilometre race, through Mother Teresa Road, Radha Gobinda Baruah Road, GS Road and VIP Road.

The theme of the race was Run for Peace. All together 110 runners from various parts of the region took part in the race. Top three winners were awarded with cash prizes of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 respectively. Runners from fourth to 10th position holders were awarded Rs 2,000 each. The race was flagged off by Rahul Choudhury, general manager (PLS), Oil India Limited. Everesters Tarun Saikia and Manish Deka, president, Luitpaar Club Hiren Chandra Bora were also present in the flag off ceremony, informed Kalyan K Das, convenor of the organising committee in a press release.
