GUWAHATI, Sept 3 - The Guwahati branch of the Indian Medical Association and the Doctors� Guild, Guwahati, will jointly observe September 4 as Loka Bandhu Divas on the occasion of the 122nd birth anniversary of Dr Bhubaneswar Barooah, a press release stated. To celebrate the occasion, a meeting will be held from 7 pm at the Jubilee Hall, Noonmati, Sector 3.
It may be mentioned here that September 4 has been observed by these organisations as Loka Bandhu Divas since the last several years to draw inspiration from the legendary medical personality of the North East. On this occasion, as in the previous years, a few eminent personalities in the medical field will be felicitated.
The organisers have requested all the members of the Doctors� Guild and the Indian Medical Association to participate in the function and pay homage to late Dr Bhubaneswar Barooah and take inspiration from his life and activities, the release added.
