DIBRUGARH, Oct 10 - The lockout at Kenduguri tea estate has been lifted following reconciliation between the workers and the management at the office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner here today. All forms of work at the garden will resume from Monday, Gobordhan Lohar, secretary, Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha of Naharkatia branch said.
The tea estate declared a lockout after Sanjay Gurtu, the manager of the garden was assaulted by some workers over suspension issue of one worker. The workers tendered their apology and also signed an undertaking that such an incident would not occur again. The Assistant Labour Commissioner Anushuya Dutta Baruah also asked Sanjay Gurtu to rectify his behaviour as alleged by the workers.
