GUWAHATI, Dec 6 - Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) Dr M Angamuthu today distributed loan to 195 beneficiaries from weaker sections under Prime Minister�s Mudra Yojana at a function held here to mark the 62nd death anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar.
The loan has been provided to SC, ST, women and OBC beneficiaries to expand and to carry out new entrepreneurial activities.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also distributed awards and financial support under Ambedkar Fellowship to five meritorious students belonging to weaker sections of the city for their pursuit of higher education.
The DC urged the banks to extend more support to people from weaker sections.
