GUWAHATI, Oct 16 - The Laxmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) clinched the title in the Premoda Kanta Sarma Memorial Inter College Cricket Tournament. In the low-scoring final played at the Judges� Field here today, the physical educationists edged past B Borooah College by 11 runs.
In reply to LNIPE�s 101 for nine in 20 overs, B Borooah scored 90 for eight.
Rajat Saikia (LNIPE) got the man-of-the-tournament award while Amit Kumar, U BIshal Singh, Vikash Deep Kaman and Bikash Terang (all B Borooah) were selected as best batsman, best bowler, best wicket keeper and best fielder respectively.
In the closing function Satyen Deka, Kalyan Borthakur, Kailash Sarma, Manjit Hazarika and organising secretary Monoj Choudhury, were present and gave away the prizes.
The tournament was organised by the NEEDS.
