GUWAHATI, Nov 26 � In an interesting incident, two rounds of live bullets were recovered during an eviction drive in the city today

The Kamrup Metro district administration and the Railway authorities today jointly carried out a major eviction drive along the railway line from Paltan Bazar to Athgaon, said an official statement.

During the drive two rounds of live bullets were recovered from one hut along the railway track. Two persons, including a man and a woman, who were living in the hut were apprehended and handed over to the GRP, it added.

In addition, three laptops and many other electronic items were recovered during the eviction drive from other illegal structures.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro Rajib Prakash Barua, Guwahati Circle officer LN Saharia and senior railway officials supervised the drive, during which 30 structures were demolished.
