BONGAIGAON, Sep 1 - Bongaigaon Court�s District and Sessions Judge, Indira Barman, has awarded lifer along with a fine of Rs 5000, to an accused who murdered his wife when she was unable to bring dowry from her home.
The accused Biswajit Sengupta, is a railway employee and a resident of Natunpara near New Colony in Bongaigaon. He murdered his wife Shyamoli (23) on March 22 in 2004 and tried to project the murder as unnatural death. His mother and younger brother were also named accused in this murder case as per the FIR lodged by the deceased brother. But the court acquitted the brother and mother of Biswajit due to lack of proper evidence, said public prosecutor, Arup Kumar Nath.
