Leopard carcass recovered

JORHAT, June 6 - A carcass of an adult male leopard was recovered today inside a drain of Gabhoru Parbat Tea Estate under Morongial Beat of Mariani Range in Jorhat Forest division.

The carcass was sent for post-mortem at the district veterinary hospital here. Few teeth and nails were said to be missing, sources said.

The Gabhoru Parbat tea garden is located at the foothills along the Assam-Nagaland border.

There are three Reserve Forests and a wildlife sanctuary near the Assam-Nagaland border under Mariani Range in the Jorhat Forest Division, with several tea gardens and large number of villages located at the periphery of the forests.
