Left parties stage protest against CAA

DIBRUGARH, Dec 19 - The district units of the Communist parties today jointly organized a demonstration in the city here as part of the Left parties nation-wide agitation against the CAA.

The Left parties and their affiliated organisations included Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (M), Revolutionary Communist Party of India (RCPI), Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) and Sodou Asom Bagisa Sharkmik Union. About two hundred party workers took out protest march at around 11 am from Old Government Boy�s School ground to Chowkidinghee and staged sit-in demonstration at the Chowkidinghee intersection upto 2 pm.

The only demand of the protestors was that CAA must be repealed. They also criticized the BJP-led government both at the Centre and the State for their divisive policies. CPI district secretary Jatin Saikia, CPI (M) district secretary Suresh Deka, RCPI state secretary Hiren Borgoahin and member Manoranjan Sharma were the leaders who took part in the demonstration. Prakash Rajkhowa represented CITU and Rajesh Rajput represented Sadou Asom Bagisa Shramik Union. Protest against CAA was also organized at Chowkidinghee by Gorkha Students� Union of the town.
