GUWAHATI, Dec 19 - As part of its nationwide agitation against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, Left Democratic Manch (LDM) staged a dharna at the Guwahati Club rotary today.
The Manch, a conglomeration of 11 Left and democratic parties of the State, gathered at 11.30 am here and raised anti-CAA and anti-government slogans.
A protest rally was also taken out up to the Dighalipukhuri area here. Hundreds of protesters took part in the protest and demanded scrapping of the CAA, release of KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi and others.
Similar events were conducted at all the district and block headquarters across Assam today, said Guno Gogoi, president of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), constituent of the LDM.
