Lawn bowling players honoured

GUWAHATI, Feb 27 � The Lawn Bowling Association Assam has accorded felicitation to the players who brought laurels to the State from the recently held 35th National Games at Kerala.

The State lawn bowling body president Durgadas Boro informed that the Assam team was adjudged best in this event which won three gold, one silver and three bronze medals.

Boro, while speaking in the felicitation function said, all the players of the team, but two, won medals for the State team and it was a result of hard and disciplined work done by the players prior to the National Games. He also praised Anshuman Dutta and Pranab Barman for their tireless efforts in preparing the team for the Games.

The medal winners are: Nayanmoni Saikia (women single), Ruptu Gogoi, Mridul Bora (men pairs), Nayanmoni Saikia, Tania Choudhury, Parishmita Gogoi (women triples) all gold medallists. Tania Choudhury, Parismita Gogoi, Bangita Hazarika, Ananya Saikia (women fours) silver medal. Mridul Bora (men single), Ananda Kumar Narzary, Dipankar Sarmah, Mridul Borgohain (men triples), Ananda Kumar Narzary, Dipankar Sarmah, Mridul Borgohain, Ruptu Gogoi (men fours) all bronze medallists.
