Landslide in Arunachal: 3 labourers from Assam die

ITANAGAR, April 22 - In a tragic incident of landslide, three labourers from neighbouring state of Assam have lost their lives in a remote place in Arunachal Pradesh.

The deceased persons, identified as Nur Haque, 35, Saiful Islam, 40, and Alias Ali, 35 hailed from Assam�s Lakhimpur district. They were buried alive when a retaining wall they were constructing at Hading-1 village under Palin in Kra Daadi district collapsed in the landslide.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed deep sense of shock and sorrow over the loss of lives and announced ex gratia relief to the next of kin of the deceased. He also appealed to the people to be cautious during the rainy season as Arunachal Pradesh is prone to natural catastrophes.
