Land patta

By City Correspondent

GUWAHATI, Jan 24 - The Kamrup Metro district administration is going to distribute 550 land pattas to landless families of indigenous people residing in the district by February-end. In the coming days, the administration will cover altogether 22,000 such families under this mission, stated Biswajit Pegu, newly appointed Deputy Commissioner of the district, during his first media interaction programme here today.

Discussing various issues and problems of the district with the media persons, Pegu said, Traffic congestion is one of the major problems of the district. The number of vehicles has increased rapidly while there is very little scope to expand the existing road system. So, there has to be coordination among all departments, along with common people, to tackle the problem.

He said such an approach is needed to tackle the waterlogging problem as well. There is much to do in the revenue sector, too, where issues of record correction remain unresolved.
