By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Jan 9 Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today described the Land Acquisition Ordinance promulgated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Government at the Centre as anti-farmer.

Informing this, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Media and IT Department In-charge Ripun Bora told this newspaper that the Chief Minister, who was addressing the valedictory function of the five-day training camp of the Congress Seva Dal at Pamohi here, emphatically said that the Congress-led Government in the State would not implement this land acquisition ordinance.

Addressing the function, All India Congress committee general secretary in-charge of Assam P C Joshi laid stress on strengthening the Seva Dal and training up the Congress functionaries to prevent the autocratic BJP from spreading its tentacle all over the country.

Congress is stronger in Assam and Assam will be able to keep Indian democracy alive and kicking, if Congress is voted to power in the 2016 Assembly elections of Assam, he said.

Describing the functioning of the BJP-led Government at the Centre as the most autocratic, he laid stress on making the Congress victorious in the 2016 Assembly elections of Assam. He asserted that the Congress organisation in Assam has made him confident of the Congress win in the 2016 Assembly elections in Assam.

Joshi highly praised Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Anjan Dutta for his fast and energetic leadership. After his assuming charge as the APCC president, Dutta has made the Congress organisation vibrant again, Joshi said.
