Lajong take on Prayag United

SHILLONG, April 14 (IANS): Under pressure from their loyal fans, Shillong Lajong FC will host Prayag United SC in a 25th round I-League encounter at JN Sports Complex here Sunday.

Lajong have come under criticism from the fans as they have lost all the four matches they have played in the last four rounds and the worst being against Kolkota giants Mohun Bagan against whom they lost 1-6.

On the other hand, Prayag will look forward to improve their position in the table and will go all out to earn full points.

"Prayag is a strong side and they are unbeaten at home we will look forward to earn full points and if the match ends in a draw it will be an improvement" Lajong coach P. Reddy said.

They will be missing the service of Lalchuanmawia as he is nursing injury while Lalramluaha is unlikely to be in the first eleven.

"We will go all out to win the match as it will help us improve our position in the table at the end of the league" said Prayag United coach Sanjoy Sen and added "we will be missing the service of our central defenders Arnab Mondal and Justine Stephen as they are injured".

When Prayag hosted Lajong the match ended in 1-1 draw.

At the end of the 24th round Lajong have 27 points from 24 matches while Prayag United are on 39 points from 24 outings.
