KV, TU teacher among nat�l awardees

TEZPUR, Aug 21 - The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has nominated eight teachers from different government schools including one from the Kendriya Vidyalaya here for the Natinal Awards for Teachers. The nominated teachers are: Runumi Bhattacharya, founder principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tezpur University, Rina Saikia, Uttar Lakhimpur Town Model School, Babul Chandra Chutia of Badhakura ME School, Principal In charge of Dhemaji Higher Secondary School, (Dhemaji district), Labanya Lahan Chutia, Md.Nazimuddin Ahmed of Dalgaon Attached Practising LP School (Darrang district), Niroda Gogoi of Jorhat Cheuni Gaon LP School, Krishna Kanta Talukdar of Pub Gwuahati Girls� ME School and Pabin Chandra Bayan of Guwahati Refinery High School.

It is to be mentioned here that in the region, Runumi Bhattacharya is the one and only teacher from Kendriya Vidyalaya to achieve the prestigious honour. The KV, Tezpur University that came into being in 2011, in the University campus comes under the Tinsukia region of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The noted teacher who teaches Mathematics and Science has already got the Kendriya Vidyalaya Zonal Skill award.

The awards will be conferred by the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee on the occasion of Teacher�s Day on September 5 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi which will carry cash prize of Rs 50,000, a memento and a citation.
