KU, India Thai Chamber ink MoU

GUWAHATI, Feb 22 � Kaziranga University (KU) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the India Thai Chamber of Commerce (ITCC) as part of the inaugural day session of the Assam International Trade and Industrial Fair held in Jorhat, a press release stated.

The ITCC is an official organization assisting and serving businesses, trading or investing between Thailand and India, and enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

As part of the MoU, both KU and ITCC will utilize the services of each other to promote the cause of higher and technical education, research, industry, trade and commerce and economic development of the northeastern region. Additionally, KU shall provide access to its library and academic achievements consisting of various literature and information related to the Northeast to ITCC.

Added to this, KU and ITCC will focus on the promotion of first generation entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs in the region. For this, both the organizations will jointly conduct awareness programmes, workshops and customized training programmes. KU and ITCC will also jointly award certificates, diplomas, etc., to participants carrying out studies or research work on education, economic and infrastructure development in the region.

The MoU was signed and exchanged by Basant Khetan, Pro Chancellor of Kaziranga University and Susheel Saraff, president of ITCC in the presence of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Chief Secretary Jitesh Khosla, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries and Commerce) RT Jindal, SBI CGM SK Maggo, Counsellor (Commerce) of Indian Embassy in Myanmar Dr Janki Raman and Minister of Industry, Myanmar Kyew Win, the release added.
