KU creating ecosystem for students to develop entrepreneurship skills

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, July 27 - Taking into account the changing dynamics of the job market, the Kaziranga University, which is the first educational institute to collaborate with Assam Start up, a State Government initiative, aims at creating an ecosystem for its students to develop entrepreneurship skills and incubation.

A number of other government and non-government agencies/institutions have come forward to create synergistic partnerships with the university, said PK Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of the university.

They include the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Government of India, Assam Start Up, A Govt of Assam Initiative, Innovative Change Collaborative India, New Delhi and Apollo Medskills, Hyderabad.

Several intentional agencies working in the field too will soon collaborate with the varsity, Mishra said. The Kaziranga University is also involved in active discussions with North East Development Finance Corporation (NEDFI) to forge a long-term association to promote entrepreneurship in the region.

A press release stated that the Kaziranga University envisions becoming a hub in the North East Region for promoting entrepreneurship education and incubating the start ups by actively engaging/collaborating with the State and Central government, PSUs and the private sector.

In this pursuit, the University has been organising a policy discourse every year in collaboration with CSIR institutions, universities of repute, civil society organisations and individual thought leaders, named as North East Sustainable and Inclusive Development Summit (NESIDS).
