Krishnav, Mayank bag silver in school chess

GUWAHATI, Dec 1 - Krishnav Mrinmoy Hazarika and Mayank Chakraborty of Assam secured second position in U-6 and U-10 category of the 9th National Schools Chess Championship held in Aurangabad, Maharastra from November 27 to December 1.

In the final round Krishnav beat Vansh Jajoo of Maharastra and scored 8 points from 9 rounds. Aditya Shripad Joshi of Maharastra also scored 8 points from same number of rounds but got first position as he had better tie-break score.� Mithilesh P of Andhra Pradesh got third position by scoring 7.5 points.

Mayank drew his final round game against Harsh Ghadge of Maharastra and scored 8 points. Daaevik Wadhawan of Delhi also scored 8 points but he was declared first on the basis of tie-break score. Md Imran of Andhra Pradesh got third position in this category.
