Krishna joins 100-wkt club

GUWAHATI, Nov 16 - Ace pace bowler Krishna Das became the fifth bowler from Assam to take 100 or more wickets in Ranji Trophy. However, Sukhvinder Singh of Delhi, who played for Assam also too more than 100 wickets in Ranji Trophy. Sukhivinder took 132 Ranji wickets in 41 matches for Assam

Krishna has completed his 100 wickets in the premier domestic championship after taking the wicket of Delhi skipper and Test discard today.

Earlier, Anup Ghatak (125 wickets in 36 matches), Gautam Dutta (142 wickets in 53 matches), Zaved Zaman (112 wickets in 47 matches), Arlen Konwar (212 wickets in 69 matches) and Abu Nechim Ahmed (138 wickets in 52 matches) were the 100-wicket takers for Assam in Ranji Trophy.

Krishna acieved the feat in his 27th match. Jubilant Krishna said after the match that it was great to complete his 100 wicket with Gautam Gambhir�s wicket. Krishna, who started his first class career in the 2005-06 season and he already took 36 wickets in this season from six matches so far.

On the match against Delhi, Krishna said, as his new ball partner Arup got injury and Sarupam is barred, it will be a tough job for him to remove the remaining six wickets tomorrow. He, however, hopeful that if the delhi team could be contained within 200 then there will be possibility of chasing the target successfully.
