NAGAON, Jan 3 � The Kolong Kola Kendra, a well-known cultural organisation of Nagaon district, observed its 15th foundation day on January 1 with a day-long programme. Attending the function as the chief guest, Dr KK Deka, VC of Mahapurush Sreemanta Sankardev Vishwavidyalaya observed that we should devotedly work to preserve our tradition and culture. He praised the Kolong Kola Kendra for its role in this field.

Well-known litterateur Pradip Saikia was also present in the function as the honourable guest and Satradhikar Jugal Chandra Goswami chaired the function.

The function began with the lighting of the traditional lamp with the agnisikha collected from the naamghars of Alisiga and Mikirhat villages. This holy function was formally performed by Krishna Goswami and Puniram Barhai.

The Agnigarah prepared specially on the occasion was formally illuminated by VC Deka, Pradip Saikia, Jugal Ch Goswami, Laxmiram Keot and others.

Traditional songs, bhaona performance, traditional dances were also presented in the function, which were appreciated by all those present.

At the end, Cittaranjan Bora offered the vote of thanks.
