By Correspondent

KOKRAJHAR, June 11 - A mega event of the north-eastern region in the cultural field, the Prag Cine Award presentation function will be held at the Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar with a two-day programme on June 17 and 18.

The mega event is being organised by Prag News in association with the Bodoland Territorial Council with the aim of enhancing the sense of brotherhood in the region.

Addressing a press meet recently at the PWD guest house, Kokrajhar, the CMD of Prag News, Sanjive Narain said that as the Assamese film industry came into existence with the release of the film Joymoti in 1935, the Bodo film industry got established with the release of the film Dyna. The Bodos have enough potential and a few among them have proved their talent at the national as well as the international level. A large section deserves a big platform on regional level to make to the global one and Prag News promises that platform, Narain said.

Narain also revealed that the Prag Cine Awards since its inception in 2003 has been recognising the contributions of personalities in the field of cinema by giving away the Life Time Achievement Award every year to a single person. This time the Life Time Achievement Award 2017 will be conferred on prominent director Munin Barua. He added that this time the awards would be given away in 23 categories.
