Kokrajhar boys enter final

MORIGAON, Aug 30 - Barhungkha Football Club, Kokrajhar entered the final of Motiram Bora Football Tournament beating Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB), Sports Club Guwahati by 2-1 goals in the second semifinal match being played at Khirode Boruah Stadium here today.

ASEB netted the first goal in 6th minute through Dipu Mirdha. But Kokrajhar boys launched attack and Ajit Kaji equalised in the 26th minute. In 36th minute Michael scored the 2nd goal for the winning team.

The second session of the match witnessed some untoward situation as players used muscles instead of football skills. In the 59th minute a free for all situation arose and some players of both the teams exchanged blows which resulted about six minute suspension of the match.

Satraghnu and Mickel of Kokrajhar and Mintu Sonowal of ASEB were given marching order for misconduct and security personnels had to enter into the ground for controlling the situation.

The final will be played between Assam Rifles, Shillong and Barhungkha Club on September 2.
