GUWAHATI, Oct 3 The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) will hold a rally at the Sonaram Higher Secondary School playground here on October 13 to find out a permanent solution to the citys vexed land settlement-related issue.

The KMSS said in a press release here today that some complexities have arisen on the issue of granting settlement rights to the people living in the city forest and wetland areas. In the face of such a situation, the Samiti is conducting a survey of all categories of pattaless land holdings in association with the 122 Unnayan Samitis of the city.

In the meantime, the 112 Samitis of the city have submitted the relevant data and documents relating to the under-possession plots of land in their respective areas. About 70 Unnayan Samitis have also endorsed the alternative land policy formulated by the KMSS, it said and made an appeal to the interested people to apprise it in writing of their opinions on this policy.

It has also appealed to the pattaless settlers of different city areas to provide the KMSS Nizarapar office with the copies of their relevant documents and submit the KMSS survey forms by October 9.
