GUWAHATI, March 21 Peasant organization Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) has launched its anti-Congress campaign with the aim at throwing the ruling party out of power. It has named the campaignCongress Hatao, Desh Bachao (throw Congress out of power and save the country).

According to a press release, since morning today, the peasant organization started its campaign at Rakshasmari and Sirajuli under Dhekiajuli Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) and Barsala Chawk, Thelamora and Bihaguri under Barsala LAC holding public meetings. The peasant organization explained before the people the 50 charges it has framed against the Congress regime.

Its secretary Akhil Gogoi, while addressing the meetings, said that spiraling prices of the essential items have made life miserable for the people of the State. The prices of essential items have shot up to a record level during the rule of the present Government in the State, he said.

Corruption has crossed all the limits and Mafia have been allowed to control States politics. The future of the unemployed lots of States youths have been destroyed by the Government by its acts of inking memorandums of understanding (MoUs) one after another with the international financial institutions.

Moreover, the scope for provincialisation of the non-Government educational institutions has been sealed once for all and the ethnic groups struggling for scheduled Tribe (ST) status have been deceived by the Government.

The pro-mega dam stand of the Government is fraught with grave danger for the States people. This stand of the Government is sure to turn the State in to a valley of death, said the peasant leader making an appeal to the people to reject the Congress candidates during the ensuing Assembly polls.
