KMSS announces stir programme

BARPETA, April 27 � The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) has again raised their voice for the solution of the burning problems of Barpeta, one of the most backward districts in the State.

The organisation has even prepared an agitational roadmap demanding solution of the problems.

Talking to the reporters here on Thursday, Kamal Kumar Medhi, convenor of Ganamukti Sangram Samiti Assam and adviser to the KMSS said that their organisation is concerned about the problems faced by the people of the district.

He informed that the members of the KMSS will demonstrate in front of the office of the deputy commissioner, Batpeta on April 29. They will assemble in the playground of the Barpeta municipality at 10 am, where a protest meeting will be held.

The KMSS has demanded upgradation of the National Register of Citizens in a correct manner, land patta to the landless farmers, checking of erosion and proper relief and rehabilitation to erosion-hit people of the district, inquiry into allegations of corruption in the departments of panchayat and rural development, water resources, agriculture, irrigation and PWD. They also demanded construction of the National Highway at the earliest.
