Killings condemned

GUWAHATI, Nov 9 � Parties and organizations have condemned yesterday�s massacre and have demanded the intervention of the Centre to check the deteriorating law and order situation in the State.

The Communist Party of India, Assam State Council said that the ruling Congress has failed to ensure the security of the common people and insisted that the Union Home Ministry take necessary action to protect the civilians of Assam.

The Bodo Sahitya Sabha expressing shock said that such type of macabre incidents will hamper the peace process. The Sabha while appealing to all the militant outfits to exercise restrain has called upon the government to refrain from killing the innocent Bodo youths in the name of apprehending the culprits.

The All Assam Students Union (AASU) has slammed the Tarun Gogoi government for its failure in protecting the people.

The All Assam Lawyers� Association has condemned the violence across the State perpetrated yesterday and has extended its condolence to the family members of the deceased. The Association has demanded of the government to provide financial aid to the deceased and the injured.

The Save Guwahati Build Guwahati (SGBG) has called upon the government to nab the perpetrators of violence and mete stringent punishment to them.
