GUWAHATI, Oct 13 � The Assamese feature film Khoobh (Anguish), directed by National award-winning filmmaker Hiren Bora, has been selected for the prestigious Kolkata International Film Festival to be held from November 10 to 17.

Produced by Shankar Lal Goenka, the film deals with child psychology involving an 11-year-old boy and his younger sister. Having spent their childhood in the wonderful ambience of rural Assam, the children one day land up in Guwahati city owing to their father�s transfer. In Guwahati, the children have to face tremendous conflict and contradiction when they join a big school full of students hailing from well-to-do families.

The cast includes Bishnu Kharghoria, Dr Iftikar Ahmed, Nishita Goswami, Bibhuti Hazarika, Aparna Dutta Choudhury, Rita Bora and Abhilash and Harshita in the roles of the children. With Parashar Barua handling the camera, the film is enriched with music by Torali Sharma.
