NAGAON, Dec 2 - In the last quarterfinal match of the Independence Day Cup football tournament at the Nurul Amin Stadium here today, Khidirpur Sporting Club defeated Football Club, Karbi Anglong 4-1.
It was, however, the Karbi Anglong side which netted the first goal in the 5th minute through Bewal Bey. Stung by the reverse the Kolkata boys shook up and netted four goals. Striker N Dyanial scored all the four goals in the 19th, 51st, 56th and 73rd minutes respectively. There will be two semifinals on December 3. The first semi final will be played between ASEB Sporting Club, Guwahati and Oil India Football Club, Duliajan at 1.30 pm while in the second semifinal Khidirpur Sporting Club will face Football Club, Gossaigaon at 5 pm.
