ITANAGAR, Sept 25 - Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu, while expressing deep shock over the recovery on Sunday of a young student�s decomposed body near JNV Tawang, today ordered for a thorough enquiry into the incident that led to the death of Toko Yame.
The victim, a native of Bana village in East Kameng district and 12th standard Science student of Tawang Govt Higher Secondary School, went missing after a quarrel among students on September 16 last. A massive search operation was conducted by the district administration, police and locals. His decomposed body was recovered from the Biga bridge waterfall near JNV Tawang yesterday after nine days of search.
Conveying his deep sense of condolence to the bereaved family members, Khandu said that the State Government will ensure that timely justice is delivered to the aggrieved family.
The Chief Minister also issued directives to the Home department to beef up security in the area to check recurrence of such incidents.
CBI inquiry demanded: Meanwhile, alleging that the murder of the young student was pre-planned and cold-blooded, Kurung Kumey Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sangha Tagik, in a letter to Home Minister, demanded the State Govt to recommend for a CBI probe or institute a SIT probe to unravel the truth behind the incident and bring the culprits to book.
