Khandu arrives at Tawang to a rousing welcome

ITANAGAR, Aug 4 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Sunday arrived at his hometown Tawang to a rousing welcome, two months after assuming the office of Chief Minister for the second term.

The Chief Minister was accorded a heartwarming reception by his supporters, well-wishers and BJP party workers during his maiden visit to his home district after assuming the office for the second term.

He was accorded civic reception starting from Sela Pass till reaching his private residence at Lumburdung.

At various points along the 67-km stretch of Sela-Tawang road, the people greeted their much-loved leader in traditional khadas (traditional scarf) and other gifts.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Lumla MLA Jambey Tashi and Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi.

In the recently held Assembly polls, Khandu had led the BJP party to score an absolute majority by winning 41 seats in the 60-member House.
