By The Assam Tribune

ITANAGAR, Nov 29 - Arunachal Pradesh Civil Aviation and Transport Minister Jomde Kena has lauded Arunachal Vivekananda Yuva Shakti (AVYS) for its continued humanitarian services.

The joining of doctors and religious leaders is a proof of the good deeds of AVYS, Kena said while addressing the 7th foundation day of AVYS at Vivekananda Hall here on Friday.

Announcing to be part of AVYS, Kena gifted a Scooty and assured all support of Arunachal Pradesh Government for its efforts, particularly for mass awareness campaigns.

Terming blood donation as the noblest act, Food and Civil Supply Parliamentary Secretary Nyamar Karbak lauded AVYS for its path breaking efforts for the humanity, particularly in a multi-cultural and multi-religious tribal State.

Founder Ramesh Jeke highlighted the journey of AVYS since its inception on November 26, 2008. A crying mother in front of a hospital looking for blood to save her daughter about to be operated, changed my life to form AVYS, Jeke said adding, AVYS volunteers have saved 1,500 lives by donating blood and have so far collected over 7,000 units through donations in educational and religious institutions and festivals. PTI
