KBC lift Amba Medhi title

MANGALDAI, Dec 2 - Kehutoli Bangrim Club (KBC) annexed the 39th Amba Medhi Prize Money Invitational Football Trophy title organised by the Mangaldai Sports Association (MSA) on Sunday. In the final, Kehutoli upset MSA Super Division Football League champions Sira Seuji Sangha by a solitary goal. After a barren first half, Amesh Ali through a solo move from the left flank surprised the Sira Seuji custodian with an accurate left footed strike in the 74th minute.

By virtue of this win, Kehutoli lifted the Amba Medhi memorial running trophy along with a prize money of Rs 35,000 while runners-up Sira Seuji Sangha received the Ratneswar Kataki memorial trophy along with a cash award of Rs 25,000. Satish Boro of Sira Seuji was adjudged best player while the best goal keeper award went to Kehutoli custodian Sashanka Baisya.

In the prize distribution function, Mangaldai MLA Gurujyoti Das, Mangaldai Municipal Board chairman Pratap Bordoloi, trophy donor Biren Medhi, prominent physician Dr Amarendra Narayan Deb and MSA secretary Anupam Deka gave away the trophies and cash awards. Earlier, the final match was inaugurated by Darrang Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kr Barman in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Chakravarty, among others.
