Kaziranga varsity signs MoU with BIMTECH

GUWAHATI, Oct 26 � The Assam Kaziranga University (KU), a private university of the State, today entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), one of the top management institutions of the country, for conducting Management Development Programmes (MDPs) in Guwahati.

The MoU was signed by Dr PK Mishra, president of the North Eastern Knowledge Foundation, on behalf of Kaziranga University and Dr H Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH on behalf of his institution. Addressing the gathering, Dr PK Mishra termed it as a significant development for using the expertise of both the institutions.

�It will also make world class training modules available to the personnel serving in this part of the country at reasonable costs benefiting the corporate houses and PSU�s alike,� he added.

The MDPs to be developed jointly by both the institutions will be professional development programmes aimed to equip managers and working professionals across various sectors, with the necessary knowledge required to perform their everyday operations in an efficient and productive manner.

�This will act as a platform to enrich and upgrade the requisite skills and necessary knowledge among the managers of today who will grow into leaders of tomorrow,� stated Dr H Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH. �Our alliance with the Kaziranga University will help us embark on this mission with strong infrastructural support to impart adequate training for the working professionals,� he added.

BIMTECH is currently one of the leaders in the field of imparting MDPs in the country having more than 100 reputed corporate houses, both in public and private sectors. This is the first time such an initiative has been launched in the north-eastern region which will benefit industrial houses located in the region.

The guest of honour, Shyam Sundar Barik, Regional Director of Reserve Bank of India, Guwahati, also addressed the gathering. Stressing the need for such programmes in this region, he lauded the efforts of both the universities for initiating this programme.
