Karimganj PHE sets record

KARIMGANJ, Sept 24 � The Karimganj PHE division has set a record in implementing water supply schemes throughout the district.

According to Joydev Nath, Executive Engineer, altogether 1,235 habitation has been covered by water supply facilities of this division. A total of 13 lakh people have been fully covered with drinking water facilities of Karimganj PHE division. Karimganj PHE division has already completed the execution works of 272 water supply schemes so far.

Karimganj PHE division is rendering water supply facilities among the villagers of 7 development blocks of the district, said Nath and added that 540 rural schools have been bought under drinking water schemes. Under Chief Minister�s Asom Vikash Yojana, 3 water supply schemes have already been completed.

Recently, Gautam Roy, Minister PHE inaugurated four water supply schemes at Uttar Panighat, Lafasail Part-2, Malua and Lamajuar. A total of 3,300 people belonging to Uttar Panighat, Hailarpara, Dakshinbond, and Dakshin Panighat will get the benefit from Uttar Panighat water supply schemes. Lafasail Part-2 schemes will provide water among the 3,125 people of village Lafasail, North Lafasail Part-2 and a portion of Laxmibazar. 2,200 people of Chaitannyanagar, Jagannathpur are benefitted from Malua water supply schemes. Lamajuar scheme covered Lamajuar Part-I and Lamajuar Part-2 and a total of 2,300 villagers get drinking water by the scheme.
