Karimganj DDC meet held

BADARPUR, Dec 18 - The new Deputy Commissioner of Karimganj district, Manoj Kumar Deka, has strictly ordered all district administration officials, to submit the development reports of the district of various schemes of the CM�s special package, with photographs of the works, immediately.

The Deputy Commissioner passed these instructions while addressing a meeting of the District Development Committee (DDC), of the month of December, which was held on Tuesday at the DC�s conference hall.

In the meeting, the PWD officials informed that the construction works for additional classrooms of 42 schools in the district have been taken up. Where the works have been fully completed in 27 schools, in the rest it will be completed within the January 31, 2016. Besides, the construction works of the Karimganj Engineering College in Nirala, under Badarpur PS, will also be complete within the January 2016, they informed the meeting. The PWD also informed that the ongoing construction works of a polytechnic college, in Maizgram and also of the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Eraligool, under Badarpur PS, have been completed to the extent of 72 per cent and 50 per cent, respectively. Besides, the building construction works of two girls� hostels of Badarpur and Baraigram, are going on in full swing and the works of Model Degree College of the district has been completed up to 60 per cent.

The meeting was also informed that the �scholarship money� under the Chief Minister�s Scholarship Examination will be handed over shortly, for fixed deposits, to the students of LP and ME levels. It may be noted that in all, a total of 2172 students at the LP level and 1230 students at the ME level, got scholarships at the CM�s Scholarship Examination, last year. The meeting was also informed that 614 villages of Karimganj district have been provided with electricity.
