Karbi bodies demand action against revenue officials

DIPHU, April 18 -� The Karbi Students� Association (KSA), Karbi Anglong Mondol Association (KAMA) and the Gorkha Students� Association (GSA) have demanded strong action against the revenue officials posted in Diphu Revenue circle for their alleged involvement in selling lands.

The leaders of the organizations alleged that the officials are involved in selling poor people lands at a throwaway prices. �We must preserve our land at any cost, and, therefore we demand a strong punishment against these officers,� the leaders said and demanded a probe in this regard.

The leaders also claimed that the Assistant Revenue Officer (ARO) of Diphu has issued land pattas which are illegal. �We had conducted a survey on various parts of the bordering areas, including Balijan, Karagaon, Lahorijan and found that pattas have been issued to a selected persons. We will not remain silent in this subject,� they said.
