GUWAHATI, Aug 18 - The 1st All Assam Shito-Ryu Karate Championship and Seminar will be held at the Chilarai Indoor Stadium, Bongaigaon on August 26 and 27.

Accordingly the 1st Shotokan Karate will be held at Bhogeswari Phukanani Indoor Stadium here on September 2 and 3, Wado Ryu Karate to be organised at Ulukunchi, West Karbi Anglong on October 28 and 29, Goju Ryu Karate at Silchar, Cachar and Shorin-Ryu Karate at Guwahati in the month of October.

Already around 200 players from all over the State have confirmed their participation in Shito-Ryu Championship in Bongaigaon and around 300 players have confirmed for Shotokan Karate.

International medallist and Indian team coach Shihan Aniket Gupta of Delhi will conduct the Shito Ryu training camp on August 26 at Bongaigaon during Shito Ryu Karate Championship. KAI Referee Commission chairman Renshi Paramjeet S Singh of Mumbai will conduct Shotokan Training Camp on September 2 at Guwahati during Shotokan Championship.

Meanwhile around 200 different karate style organisations have been approved by the national sports federation for karate in India � the Karate Association of India ( KAI) which is recognised by the Indian Olympic Association and Government of India�s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

As being the affiliated unit of KAI, the United Karate-Do Association, Assam (UKAA) also approved around 22 different style karate associations in the State, stated a release.
