Silchar, March 26: Kanhaiya Kumar, the National Executive Council Member of the Communist Party of India (CPI), on Friday urged the people not to choose any party which divides people.

Addressing a public meeting at Silcoorie Nach ghar to campaign for the AIUDF candidate Karim Uddin Barbhuiya, Kanhaiya said, " in this country we all have equal rights and hence, people in Assam must not elect any party( hinting at the BJP) which divides people. Jo log goli maron...ki baat karte hain aap unko kaise keh sakte hain ki wo Hinduo ka bhala karenge."

Upon arrival, Kanhaiya reached the CPI office at Bhuiya gadi area in Janiganj he headed for the historic Baram Baba temple at Silcoorie tea garden area. He was seen offering prayers at the temple and referred to the 'shanti mantra' chanted by the priests as well in his speech.
