GUWAHATI, Dec 21 - Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu on Saturday directed all departmental heads of the district to submit detailed reports on encroachment in their office premises.
At a meeting held at his office, Pegu said the district administration will initiate immediate steps to remove the encroachments after getting the reports. Meanwhile, district administration sources said that at present, a number of government office campuses have been encroached by people.
Pegu also reviewed the progress in implementation of various government schemes. He asked all departmental heads to expedite the implementation of all schemes. He also directed the Labour Department to carry out awareness programmes on various welfare schemes in every tea garden area in the district.
