GUWAHATI, June 13 � The District Development Committee meeting of Kamrup (Metropolitan) district for the month of May was held on Monday at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (Metro), Guwahati.
The meeting was presided over by Ashutosh Agnihotri, Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (M), an official press release stated.
The meeting reviewed the flagship programmes including Assam Bikash Yojana, PMGSY scheme, PHE schemes, total sanitation campaign, Rajiv Gandhi Gramya Vaidyutikaran Yojana, Integrated Child Development Project, Irrigation, etc.
It may be mentioned that under the Assam Bikash Yojana, the PWD department has been implementing two schemes related to Dispur revenue circle office building and construction of Azara circle office building.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner instructed ASEB to shift the poles situated in the middle of the road. While reviewing the progress of Fishery schemes, the DC asked the officer concerned to take necessary steps to enhance fish production to meet the requirements of the public.
The meeting also thoroughly discussed the border development issue.
The Deputy Commissioner asked all the departments to take necessary steps for plantation on the office premises and rainwater harvesting in their office buildings.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed heads of all the departments to complete the schemes in stipulated time.
