By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Aug 3 - The Kamrup Metro district administration today formally handed over to the Bordeuri Samaj all the assets and properties that had been taken from the Kamakhya Debutter Board last week.

The assets were handed over after proper tabulation, said an official statement.

The Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro, Dr M Angamuthu, also held a meeting with representatives of the Bordeuri Samaj to discuss about ways to improve the infrastructure and services in the Kamakhya Temple.

The district administration had last week taken charge of all the assets of the Kamakhya Debutter Board.

This had come after the Supreme Courts decision in early July to uphold the verdict of the Gauhati High Court paving the way for the dolois of Kamakhya to run the affairs of the historic temple.

Following the apex court directive, the district administration had asked the Kamakhya Debutter Board to hand over all its properties and documents present at the temple.
