Kalita Janagusthi Sanmilan ends

GOLAGHAT, March 29 � A general meeting of Kalita Janagusthi Assam, Golaghat district committee was held on March 24 at the Barua Bamungaon Natya Mandir under Golaghat district with a day-long programme.

The open meeting was held under the presidentship of Dr Makhon Prasad Bordoloi, president of GDC and was addressed by Amulya Barman, adviser of KJSA and ex-professor of Cotton College, Hemendra Nath Bhuyan adviser of KJSA, Jagannath Patgiri, adviser of KJSA, Central Committee, Upen Dutta, president of KJSA, Golaghat Nagar Sammittee, Jatin Phukan, former assistant secretary of KJSA, Suren Bora, vice president of KJSA, Golaghat district committee Biren Dutta and Nalin Dutta.

The speakers underlined the organisational activities of Kalita Janagusthi Sanmilan, Assam and discussed various problems faced by the Kalita Janagusthi of Assam. The meeting adopted several resolutions like starting of census of the Kalita Janagusthi of Assam to write a historical book on Kalita Janagusthi, demand to the Government of Assam to constitute a development council for the Kalita Janagusthi, etc.

Earlier, Rajib Saikia, convenor of the general meeting explained the objectives of the meeting and the vote of thanks was offered by MM Patbandha.

It may be mentioned here that the convenors with the discussion with the members of the KJSA adopted a resolution to form Upper Assam Mandalik Sammittee for betterment of the Kalita Janagusthi in the field of social, cultural historical and economic development of entire Kolita Janagusthi of Assam.
