GUWAHATI, Jan 3 - The death anniversary of Kaliram Medhi, the third president of the Asam Sahitya Sabha will be observed on January 24 at the State Museum here, where some well-known Bengali writers from Kolkata and distinguished people of the State will be present.
To mark the occasion an essay competition for students from Class VII to Class X is being arranged on the topic � �Kaliram Medhi & Assamese Grammar & Literature�, to be written in Assamese in about 1,000 words.
According to a press release the essays can be sent to the Kaliram Medhi Memorial Trust, Assam Institute of Sustainable Development, Kharghuli, before January 21.
